Project Narrative

Staach was initially hired by Northwestern Mutual as a consultant to provide design direction for the overall interior scheme of their new regional headquarters. This scope quickly evolved into a larger role that not only directed the interior language of the space but the conceptual storytelling as well.

Staach offered new ways of thinking about the financial group’s clientele that allowed for more meaningful experiences. By tapping into the functional and emotional needs of the staff and clients, the design began to support the people using it in a very dynamic way.

Natural lighting and warm tones paired with thoughtful space planning created the airy, yet secure atmosphere necessary for catering to the sensitivity of the program. The design’s similarities to hospitality and residential interiors meant that people could occupy this space with the same level of comfort and openness felt within their living rooms or favorite cafes.
