Project Narrative

After decades as a community bowling enterprise, our client, Clover Lanes, approached us with this question: How do you re-envision bowling for the 21st Century? The response was to re-brand and start fresh in a new space. With a nod to Rochester’s manufacturing past, Clover Lanes became Radio Social after finding a new life in the historic Stromberg-Carlson radio factory.

Our goal in transforming a vast, open space into Radio Social’s new home was to create a sense of intimacy, adventure, and discovery. As one moves through the space - each area presents a new opportunity to engage with a different style and scale of social activity and interaction. Supporting a close conversation over cocktails, as well as clinking pints over friendly competition, the space maintains consistency in theme and design across three areas for bowling, two bars, 3,600 sf of dining space, three additional activity areas and a variety of lounges.
